PROJECT MANAGER/STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Are you bright, driven, and passionate about solving puzzles and making complex buildings come to life? Are you an SE, PE (structural) with at least 3 years experience designing multi-story buildings or large custom homes in high seismicity areas? Are you experienced creating with steel, post-tensioned concrete, wood, and heavy timber? Do you like challenges and designing buildings with unconventional materials and systems? Responsibilities:
• Perform detailed structural design and analysis for projects involving structural steel, concrete and wood, particularly in high seismic settings.
• Act as structural lead and designer for small and medium sized projects, with intent to develop skills towards a future lead role for larger projects and client accounts.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines including architectural, geotechnical, and MEP.
• Select appropriate methods and techniques to obtain practical and cost effective design solutions.
• Comfortable supervising junior team members.
• Attend site visits related to pre-design information gathering, post-construction review, and structural condition assessments.
• Prepare written reports.
• Work within assigned project time allotments and deadlines.
• Work individually or participate as part of a team for larger scale projects.
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
• Assist in business development efforts.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in civil/building/structural engineering from an accredited American or Canadian university;
• Minimum 3 years’ experience designing buildings in a high seismic setting;
• Licensed P.E. in the state of Utah or ability to get licensed by reciprocity;
• Experience with AutoCAD or Revit as well as structural analysis software;
• Strong written and oral communication skills. Able to write technical reports under guidance from senior engineers;
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
